2013 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) To Be Held In Bayelsa
Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has completed screening movies to be selected for the next AMAA Awards taking place on the 25th of April 2013 in Bayelsa, Nigeria. This is the 9th edition of the Award which began in May 2005. The event is presented annually to recognize excellence in the African film industry, rewarding directors, actors, and writers. The awards are aimed at honouring and promoting excellence in the African movie industry as well as uniting the African continent through arts and culture.
Bayelsa State governor, Serieke Dickson, is reportedly prepared to host African filmmakers in his state during the awards period. AMAA is one of the most coveted awards in Africa.
Malawian President Joyce Banda will on 15th March be guest of honour at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) nominations night to be hosted in Malawi’s capital city Lilongwe.
The AMAA nominations, expected to bring together film makers and celebrities from different parts of Africa, are slated to take place at the Bingu International Conference Centre.
