100% PVC Collection Not Possible – Adeola
The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts and Lagos West Senatorial District Hon. Solomon Adeola has stated that a 100 percent Permanent Voter Card PVC collection before election is not possible due to a variety of reason.
Speaking to hundreds of APC youth leaders from Lagos West Senatorial District who paid him a solidarity visit ahead of the March 28, 2015election, Hon. Adeola said from INEC statistics Lagos state has attained 81% PVC collection adding that the collection rate will definitely improves further before the end of time allotted for collection.
“It is not possible to have a 100% PVC collection. Lagos has attained 81% as at last count. Some people would have been deceased while others like Youth Corp members would have relocated from where they register and may not want to make effort to go to their old location” he said adding that those complaining or petitioning of PVC collection at this point are not prepare for election and only dreading their imminent defeat at the polls.
Hon Adeola urged the youth leaders to continue to preach for those with PVCs not to sell their cards as some political parties are bent disenfranchising even those that already have PVCs for nefarious ends.
He said he is going to organized for the first time in the history of the district youth symposium with eminent resource persons as a way of identifying problems confronting youth and a channel for empowerment schemes. He called on the youth to work hard for the desired change that is coming adding that since the advent of our nascent democracy in 1999, this is the first time that the opposition is far ahead of the ruling party in popularity and rating by reputable polling organisations.
The leader of the Youth in Lagos West Mr. Lukmon Jimoh said the APC youth in the district are poised to deliver all wards in the district to APC as people are tired of PDP rule in Nigeria.
