Event Review: Tech Plus Conference & Exhibition
The Tech Plus 2day event kicked off this past Friday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. I was opportune to attend the Day 1 of the event. I haven’t attended a tech event before but I looked forward to having a great time. Which I did.
Who I Went With
I attended the event with my very good friend, Seyifunmi. Seyifunmi and I are more like sisters and I love being around her. She doesn’t like wahala like me.. lol! We gist and laugh about the weirdest things one can ever think of.
Attendees Registration
I once put up a post about how the usual way of attendee registration could ruin an event. The registration format for this event was totally different and it blew my mind. At least for the first time, I saw something different. I think corporate organisations should take a clue from the use of technology during attendee registration and totally ditch the pen and paper format.
How The Organizers Engaged Attendees
There were lots of activities at this event. Attendees were asked to download the Tech Plus App in order to enable them get more information before, during and after the event. Attendees were able to ride in style courtesy of Uber App..although I didn’t see anyone arrive in style sha!
Tech Plus treasure hunt app.. to participate in the treasure hunt, attendees were asked to download an app, use the app to scan a material at the registration desk which have clues to move on to different stands to answer questions and win fantastic prices.
A popular car company offered some of the guests sign-up for a test drive session of some of their cars. Nigerians like good things sha! A lot of guests posed and took pictures with the cars that were showcased at the event.
Who I Met At The Event
I met my client, Playfulbow for the first time. Playfulbow is a balloon twister and he makes fantastic balloon sculptures for birthdays, weddings, corporate events and children parties.
His presence at the event drew a lot of crowd to the stand where he was stationed as everyone wanted to have a feel of the sculptures. Kids were not left out.
I also met my friend, Chaste. Chaste runs a charity foundation. We took a walk round the exhibition hall, talked about a few things and took pictures. I also met popular youtuber, bellarose.
Attendees
A lot of guests turned up for the event. The event must have had over 1000 attendees on that Friday. At the time we were leaving people were still arriving.
My Thoughts About The Event
I had a good time on the first day. Although I didn’t attend the event the second day because I had another function. With the massive turnout and engagement and level at which the event was publicised, I believe overtime, the venue may no longer be able to take a lot of guests.
If you were at the event, do share your experience.
