I Think I Just Got Socked! 

A couple of months ago, i stumbled on a pack of Nicole and Giovanni (N&G) socks with a friend and experienced first-hand the excitement surrounding men and women wanting to have a pair of this fairly new sock brand in town.

They were well packaged, colourful, soft and so yummy that I had the urge to purchase a pair for myself immediately.
I looked up the brand and i was wowed! I had to know more. I contacted the Founder and i was amazed. 

A journey into this young and strong willed entrepreneur is quite an interesting one. He left his day job as a renowned Banker to turn what he enjoys into a thriving business – He launched his own sock brand. Today, he is nicknamed the “Wolf of Sock Street” by his friends. 

N&G socks was launched 2 years ago and it has undeniably been a win especially with the way they have warmed into the hearts of their customers by re-inventing gift ideas for men.

We decided to feature the brand of socks and the man behind the brand who carved a niche for himself in the already overcrowded fashion industry. His name, Segun Abiona, a graduate of Finance from the University of Lagos and Middlesex University in London respectively. He worked at the defunct Nurnberger on Awolowo Rd, Ikoyi, Bell Oil & Gas, Cashcraft Asset Management, Cordros Capital, Barclays Bank, FCMB before leaving to start his Sock business, all in 13years.

The socks are often seen on display at top Nigerian weddings. Top business and entertainment moguls have all been seen at various events displaying his coloured socks to show confidence and class.

Another interesting quality that seems to amaze me is the commitment to deliver the highest level of customer service. According to the Founder, they have moved beyond service to what is regarded as “Advocacy, a method that encourages quality conversation between the brand and customers. They don’t sell the product alone but the brand.

They have various product categories ranging from Classic/Limited Edition socks for professionals, weddings, kids socks, No-show socks to cater for the dressy and sporty folks and the luxury socks for the top echelons and stylish fashionistas.
They also serve organizations who are interested in custom orders. Their current customers range from Preschools, High Schools, Colleges, A-Level Schools, Companies, Churches and Private associations.
