Charleans Celebrate At 40

Plans are in top gear by the 1977 Graduating Set of St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo, also known as Stanza 737 of the School’s Old Boys Association to celebrate 40 years Anniversary of their graduating from the school. A couple of activities have been lined up to show appreciation to God Almighty for preserving their lives and blessing them. 

The 3-day celebration which kicks off Friday July 7, 2017 with a Welcome Cocktail will feature morning and evening sessions. The morning session on Saturday July 8, 2017 holding in the Alumni Hall in the school premises will feature an intra-school debate and commissioning of the 40th year anniversary projects while the evening session, a Reunion dinner will hold at Regina Suites, Oke-Onitea, Osogbo. The ceremony will be rounded up on Sunday June 9, 2017 with an anniversary thanksgiving service at St. Benedict’s Cathedral Church, Popo Lane, Osogbo. 

Highlight of the celebration include Awards and Certificates of Service excellence to distinguished Old Boys as well as living past teachers of the set which was admitted in January 1973, and graduated June, 1977. Posthumous Awards would be presented to the deceased Principals and Vice Principal of the School who served meritoriously during the school years of the set, as well as departed Old teachers who would be represented by their families at the event.

 Among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasions are the Executive Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Adesola Aregbesola; Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, Charlean Isiaka Owoade, Chairman, Osun Education Quality Assurance & Morality Enforcement Agency, the President, St. Charles Grammar School Old Boys Association Worldwide, Mr Majek Owoo, all past presidents of the association, all Charleans worldwide and their wives, business associates, surviving past and present teachers. 

To commemorate this reunion and school appreciation, the great Stanza will be commissioning at least 3 major projects for the school that will impact positively on the lives of the teeming students and teachers. These projects are ICT Hall re-roofing, School Entrance Main Gate re-painting and reconstruction of a Block of 2 dilapidated classrooms and the Vice Principal’s office.
