H.E.B Restaurant Review: My First Time At The Red Restaurant, Eko Hotel & Suites

I attended an event at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites. It was on my way home after the event that I spotted the signage with the name ‘red restaurant ‘ I knew for a fact that as at that time, the restaurant was pretty new so I thought it would be nice to check it out. 

Last night, a friend of mine invited me to dinner and asked me to make a choice of where I wanted us to go. I chose the red restaurant so I can give you guys my honest review.

 I arrived at the restaurant at 8pm and received a warm welcome from the man at the desk and then I made my way to the bar where my friend was seated. Immediately I took my seat, a waiter who goes by the name Anthony asked if I wanted anything. I’m a lover of Chapman and Bailey’s but I wanted something different this time. I asked him to make a very nice cocktail for me. He made Amaretto sour. It had a little bit of alcohol. I specifically told him I didn’t want too much of alcohol in it so I don’t start seeing double on my way home lol . 

Few mins later, he asked if he could get us the menu so we can make our choice while we still chilled at the bar. Below are the meals we ordered and their rates. 

The Food

The food was top notch. We had shrimp wonton soup . Cost: N3,500

Steamed shrimp dumping . Rate:  N5500

We also had Braised prawns with minced chicken and chili sauce. Price N9500 for a small portion . The large portion cost N12000 

 Stir-fried diced chicken preserved pepper . Small portion cost N5500 while the large portion cost N7000 

Red Sea food fried rice cost N4000 for a small portion while the large portion cost N5600 . We ordered the small portion of all the meals and still had left overs which they packed into a takeaway for me. The meals were pretty much. 

Ambience 

I loved the warm feel of the restaurant. Very classy with stunning interiors. 

Waiters 
The waiters were very professional, nice and very welcoming. The waiter who took our order was very articulate in taking our order without leaving anything out. I also love the fact that one of the waiters followed me all the way to the car with the takeaway he had packed for me. 

Did we get our order on time? 

No. After our first course, it took about an hour to get our food. I was already getting tired and sleepy. By the time I was done eating, I didn’t even remember how long it took because the food was really nice.

General Thought

The red restaurant is very nice and top notch. I’ll absolutely recommend the restaurant to anyone. It is a very good place for couples who crave for fine dinning. Suitable venue for a proposal and a small birthday gig. For the guys, the red restaurant is a very ideal place to take your girlfriend to.
