Over the weekend I attended omawumi’s album listening party which had in attendance a stream of your favourite celebs.

Asides from her vocal dexterity and obvious giftedness, what I love about Omawumi is her authenticity. At some point during her performance, she had to pull her shoes for a much more comfortable slippers. She is an original, the girl-next door who serenades you with her melody effortlessly.

Teni is also an entertainer that is rewriting what it means to be a star. The bubbly singer can show up on Instagram with pictures of herself munching on ‘garri and kulikuli’. Little wonder, most Nigerians are in love with her music.

2face is another music star whose ‘realness’ deserves to be studied.He is one pop star who hasn’t allowed the glamour of fame and success affect his personality. His originality shines through every time.
