Party professionals in Nigeria launched a ‘Show Us Mercy’ campaign to appeal to the Lagos State Government to re~open the sector fully. The party professionals are ready to work and ready to adhere strictly to COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Lagos state government.
A post by the Association of Professional Party Organizers and Event Managers of Nigeria on Instagram read:
The pandemic came into the world unexpectedly, disstabilised lives globally. The event industry has been on Lockdown for six months and we have continued to follow government guidelines to keep ourselves, staffs and clients most importantly safe. Over this last 6 months we have continued to educate ourselves and relearn what it is to keep safe. The various key sectors in the event industry are ready to follow all government guidelines as we appeal for a Reopening of the Event industry now. We have suffered losses, our staffs and families as well. There are families that both livelihood is from this sector, they are faced with having to feed at home, pay fees amongst others. It’s a large Industry.
We will also help the Government in monitoring violators to be brought to books. This pandemic has brought together the different associations in the the Event industry and we speak as ONE VOICE! TO please have the Event Industry open for work , We are Ready.
