$500,000 Bribe: High Court Sentences Faruk Lawan To 7 Years Imprisonment
Former chairman of the House of Representatives ad hoc committee probing the multi-billion naira fuel subsidy fraud in 2012, Faruk Lawan has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for asking for 3million dollar bribe and receiving 500 thousand dollars from owner Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, Femi Otedola.
He was also asked to return the sum of $500 thousand dollars received from Otedola to the federal government.
