Yoruba Nation Rally: Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana Takes over Salesgirls Case Allegedly Killed by Stray Bullet
Popular Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has taken up the case of 25-year-old salesgirl, Olajumoke Oyeleke, who was allegedly killed by a stray bullet during the Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos.
A lawyer from Femi Falana chamber, Taiwo Olawanle, revealed that Falana wrote to the state chief coroner to request an inquest into the case.
However, the Lagos State Government has said anyone found culpable in the death of Jumoke will be made to face the law. Jumoke was killed while displaying soft drinks at her boss’ shop in a compound close to the Yoruba Nation rally ground when security men chased some agitators into the premises, she was allegedly hit by a stray bullet. She died on the spot.
