Wendy Williams Back in Rehab
Wendy Williams has allegedly checked back into rehab to treat her substance abuse.
News outlet Page Six in an exclusive report claimed that Williams’ health and addiction issues worsened after her former daytime talk show’s production company allegedly “refused” to get her help.
“She went from wine to straight up vodka.”
“They turned their backs on her,” our source explained. “They had too much control over someone so vulnerable.”
Earlier this year Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter claimed that the company wasn’t ready to take the show host from her iconic purple chair and that included getting her the help she needed.
“Debmar would not support Wendy’s recovery efforts with the family,” Hunter told the outlet in July. “They would not sign off on anything that would’ve helped her recovery efforts.”
He said, “They sat in a meeting with her whole family, including her now-deceased mom, and would not sign off on the recovery efforts that would’ve helped Wendy also get well and live and be sober.”
“They basically said, ‘If you don’t stop drinking, you’re going to lose the show.’”
Williams has struggled with addiction from the beginning of her career. She became sober and stayed that way until it appeared thate she relapsed in late 2018 or early 2019. She took a two-month break from her program at the time, although she insisted it was to cure her Graves’ condition. Later, she admitted to moving into a halfway home to support her recovery.
