Epe’s Kayo Kayo Festival 2024: A Resounding Success with Eagle Aromatic Schnapps Partnership
The Kayo Kayo Festival of the Epe people commemorates the arrival of King Kosoko
into the town in 1851. This year’s festival, held from July 19th to July 27th, was a grand
spectacle of culture, tradition, and community spirit, made even more remarkable by
the generous partnership with Eagle Aromatic Schnapps.
Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, a brand of the Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL),
known for its deep cultural ties and premium quality, played a crucial role in enhancing
the festival and honouring the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Shefiu Olátúnjí
Adéwálé.
Speaking on behalf of Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, Celestine Anyanwu expressed the
brand’s delight in sponsoring the festival. We are honoured to be part of the Kayo Kayo
Festival, a celebration that beautifully showcases the rich cultural heritage of Epe. At
Eagle Aromatic Schnapps, we believe in the power of tradition and community, and this
festival embodies those values perfectly. We look forward to continuing our support for
events that preserve and promote our shared cultural heritage.
Throughout the festival, Epe was transformed into a hub of festival-cultural activities.
Traditional music and dance performances brought the town streets to life.
One of the most memorable moments was the carnival dance display by youths of the
community, showcasing their sense of togetherness. Eagle Aromatic Schnapps played a
central role in these gatherings, it was a testament to their brand ethos of celebrating
and promoting Nigerian culture.
