Unknown Gunmen Kill Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Albani And Wife
Unknown gunmen in Zaria have killed Sheikh Muhamman Auwal Albani Zaria and one of his wives in the late hours of yesterday on their way back home after attending the usual evening Tafsir lecture in the city. The wife died on the spot of the shooting while the Sheikh was rushed to St. Luke Hospital in Wusasa area of Zaria where he was pronounced dead.
Sheikh Albani is the leader of the Islamic Salafiyya movement. He runs schools which for children., The Sheikh was briefly arrested in 2011 by the Nigerian police for his radical preaching but was set free by a court.
