H.E.B Exclusive Interview With The Hair Stylist For Divas, Ogunbiyi Emmanuel Of Tobbies Touch

In an interview exclusive to Helen Events Blog… The MD/CEO of Tobbies Touch, the leading hair stylist told us about his business and what sets him apart from his competitors. Read our exclusive interview with him below.

Helen: LET US MEET YOU
Tobbies Touch: Am Ogunbiyi Emmanuel Oluwatobiloba,a native of Ogun state. Am a graduate of Industrial and Labour Relations from Olabisi Onabanjo University, I am the C.E.O and grand stylist of TOBBIE’S TOUCH(hairstylist for divas).

Helen: HOW DID YOU START THE BRIDAL HAIR BUSINESS?
Tobbies Touch: It all started around 2006. I noticed most ladies wear wrong hairstyles (everyday look and bridal) the hair not laid properly, wrong choice of colours, etc….so I decided to bring about the positive change in the hair industry.

Helen: WHAT WERE THE START-UP CHALLENGES YOU FACED AND HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THOSE CHALLENGES?
Tobbies Touch: The only challenge I faced was trying to convince people to do what they have never tried before because most people are scared of trying new things and after trying it out, they love it.

Helen: WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION OF STARTING UP THE BUSINESS?
Tobbies Touch: Nigerian ladies are beautiful. They have unique facial features that need to be enhanced by wearing the right hairstyles. I get my inspiration from animation. Am a lover of cartoons and they wear Perfect hairstyles.

Helen: HOW DO YOU SATISFY YOUR CLIENTS?
Tobbies Touch: As a TRADEMARK OF HAIRCELLENCE, I give them nothing less than the best. Beat up their imagination and making their hair look super glam on their D-day.

Helen: WHAT PART OF YOUR JOB DO YOU FIND TASKING OR UNENJOYABLE?
Tobbies Touch: Really, every part of my job is interesting. Maybe because hair is part of me. And that’s the reason why I am so versatile when it comes to styling… bridal, runway,shoots( photo and videos).

Helen: HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS AND BRIDES?
Tobbies Touch: Well, i have learnt to understand people from different background, coping with them is not an issue for me. And am always smiling so I don’t get distracted by their attitudes rather, I made them smile too.

Helen: WHAT IS THE TOP TREND FOR BRIDAL HAIRSTYLES?
Tobbies Touch: Updos and soft curls will forever be my top trend.

Helen: WHAT SINGLE HAIR PRODUCT IS MOST IMPORTANT FOR A BRIDE TO HAVE ON HER WEDDING DAY?
Tobbies Touch: Olive oil edge control. I love the effects it gives on hair.

Helen : WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER STYLIST AND WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR BRAND IN 10 YEARS TIME?
Tobbies Touch: I know both the theoretical and practical aspect of hair, I know the right style that suit each client and occasion and I keep it as natural as possible yet, classy. In 10 years, I see my brand at the international level and having my ambassadors round the globe.

Helen: WHATS YOUR ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GO INTO THE BRIDAL/HAIR BUSINESS BUT DOESNT KNOW HOW TO?
Tobbies Touch: Money shouldn’t be the Key reason why you want to go into the business, it should be something you enjoy doing. Remember, your talent takes you places, your character keeps you there.
