My Hotel: A Review of Lagos Travel Inn, Ikeja.

Published

on

Yesterday I went to explore the new Lagos Travel Inn Hotel located on Toyin Street, Ikeja. This is how my stay went.

THE HOTEL & CHECK-IN

I arrived at the hotel and made my way to the reception, located in the main building, where you will also find the bar and restaurant. I was allowed to see the room before I made payment. Check-in was a little delayed because the POS wasn’t available. Rather than keep me waiting at the reception, I was taken to my room and I made payment 20 minuets later. The hotel grounds are well maintained and the reception is gorgeous.

MY ROOM

My room was pretty simple. I had a working area and a small sitting area. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean. Infact, the entire room was very clean.

I did struggle with finding a power point by the bed. I ended up plugging my phones in the socket around the working area which was a bit far from the bed. I didn’t find this convenient considering the fact that I am always on my phone.

EATING AT THE HOTEL

I had dinner at the hotel restaurant at about 7pm. I ordered Jollof rice. Jollof rice comes with Plantain , coleslaw, fish, chicken , beef or assorted meat. I ate Jollof with Plantain and croaker fish. The meal took about 20 minutes. The rice looked really looked nice but didn’t taste as nice and it looked. Imagine waiting for 20 minutes and the first thing you taste from your plate is cold Plantain. It didn’t quite seem like I was eating Jollof rice at all. If you decide to stay at the Lagos Travel Inn and you want to eat correct Jollof rice, I’ll suggest you buy from a xyz bukka nearby. Jollof rice at the hotel cost N3000 and I didn’t even finish it. I didn’t finish the meal because it didn’t taste nice at all.

POOL AND GYM

I didn’t have access to the pool and gym because both areas are on maintenance mode.

WILL I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO A FRIEND?

Yes. but definitely not the restaurant.

MY VERDICT

I would say that my stay felt like home a bit. I really loved the bed. The staff were excellent. The staff I interacted with were the staff at the reception, the bar and the restaurant. The hotel is beautiful but then it just opened.

Disclaimer: I was a guest at Lagos Travel Inn for the purpose of this review. Opinions are mine. Room start at N22,500 (Christmas discount) per night and comes with free WiFi and complimentary breakfast. The most expensive room in the hotel cost about N80,000.
