Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN), a social enterprise that provides a global platform for the promotion of Made in Nigeria fashion products, has announced plans to hold it’s 5th edition in five states across Nigeria in 2018.

Top fashion conscious states including Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Anambra, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States have been shortlisted to host the spectacular fashion shows.

The AFWN focuses on empowerment, creating jobs, supporting education and skills acquisition in fashion since its inception in 2014

This year’s fashion week themed “African Heritage Arise” is open to young and emerging designers who are desirous of showcasing their creative designs ranging from shoes, bag, fashionable African accessories, clothes and more in a world class ambience. It will also provide an exceptional platform for established brands to display their products to the world while providing a golden opportunity for young and upcoming fashion houses to meet with the established global fashion brands from around the world.

“We believe that fashion is about creativity & sustainability. For creativity to grow, there needs to be a platform that promotes and supports its growth. AFWN is a platform created for Nigerian designers to promote a combination of fashion and culture” says Ms. Ronke Ademiluyi, Founder, African Fashion Week Nigeria and London.

With a core team made up of experienced fashion industry experts and business professionals, AFWN, said Ademiluyi, is committed to creating a platform for African and African inspired designers by not only showcasing them to an international market, but also supporting them in building a sustainable business that is globally recognised and promotes social change in Africa.
