2BABA BRINGS THE BEST OF HIS 20 YEARS ON STAGE AT TRACE LIVE
This past Thursday, Individuals from various walks of life trooped into Terra Kulture Arena to witness the OUTSTANDING REIGN OF 2BABA’s musical journey for the past 20 years. TRACE, Cabal Entertainment and Bolanle Austen-Peters Production delivered another installment of the best live music experience in the region,
Taking us down memory lane with songs from now defunct trio group, Plantashun Boiz, 2baba opened up the show with a nostalgic feeling never before witnessed in the Live Music space in Nigeria. The event tagged ‘Trace Live Presents 2Baba: The Reign’ started with 2Baba’s band serenading the crowd with beautiful rhythm before following his cue and going on to perform old hits through a redefined Live sound. Songs like OLE, FOR INSTANCE, NFANA IBAGHA, TRUE LOVE, AFRICAN QUEEN, RAINBOW amongst others, through the audience into a frenzy as the whole hall soon became a Sing-along experience.
The red carpet kicked off at exactly 6pm with guests enjoying cocktails at the experience lounge. The show which started a little over 9pm didn’t seem to end early as planned as the audience were eager to hear all of 2Baba’s hit songs up until 12:00am. With a perfect ambience, the sound and lighting set up was second to none.
2Baba’s reign as a trailblazer in the Music industry clearly strikes a special chord with music lovers and industry colleagues, demonstrated by the crowd in attendance including Timaya, Sound Sultan, Orezi, Larry Gaaga, Dj Jimmy Jatt, Toke Makinwa, Peruzzi, Annie Idibia, Ajebo Comedian, Lasisi Elenu, Sensei Uche, Pencil and a host of many others.
Just like previous editions, the event featured the customary interactive element where 2Baba’s fans got to ask questions via Twitter, which was curated on the main screen. Answering all in between songs, 2Baba wouldn’t stop showering praises at Annie Idibia who he explained, supported him during his trying days. With goofy smiles and a comedic character, one would have easily passed the Legendary singer for a standup comedian as there was “no dulling” at the show.
“2Baba didn’t only bring the hits, He brought 20 years of nostalgia to the Arena and raised the bar higher for the next artiste who is lucky to feature on Trace Live. Before bringing the night to a close, 2Baba announced to the audience, his 20 Years a King tour and grand concert happening later in the year.
