The Star Studded Nuptials Between Nefisa Mahmud and Rotimi Gbenga Daniel’s in Lagos.
A former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniels, brought his heavyweight to bear when he brought together the who is who in Nigeria political world, notable industrialists, entertainment buffs, religious giants and traditional chiefs as his dear son, Olurotimi Gbenga Daniels said ‘I do’ to his heartthrob, Nefisa Mahmud, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mohammed Segir Abiodun Mahmud, in a glamourous two fold marriage ceremonies.Beginning with a Nikkai ceremony, where Muslim marriage rites were performed, the event dovetailed into the core traditional ceremonies at the residence of the bride’s father, in Lekki, Lagos.In attendance were family members and friends as well as associates of both families among whom were Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, The Otunba Adekunle Ojora and wife, Bashorun J.K. Randle, Alhaji Adebola Adegunwa, Erelu Obada, Alhaja Sinatu Badru, former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Gen. Ike Nwachukwu (rtd), and Lagos White cap chiefs who represented the Oba of Lagos.The ceremonies continued 48 hours later with a church service at Queen’s Park Event Centre Lekki, where Most Rev. (Dr) Rufus Omikola, Bishop Akin Akinsanya, Most Rev. (Dr.) Micheal Olusina Fape, Rt. Rev. Gbenga Ohu, Rt. Rev. B. R. F. Ogunbanwo, Archbishop Paul Onanuga, Archbishop (Prof) O. Obijole, Rev. (Dr.) Wale Sulola, Archbishop Bisi Ademosu and others were on hand to join the latest couple.
After the spirit filled service anchored by Rev Richard Oladele and Rev. Remi Onajole, a sumptuous reception followed at the same venue.
In his address, the Chairman of the event, Omo Oba Subomi Balogun admonished the couple on the need to respect and tolerate each other. In the same vein, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was the special guest of honour, congratulated the couple advised them to have the fear of God in all they do.With the best of local and continental dishes in excess supplies and King Sunny Ade dishing out the best of sounds, guests were splendidly entertained.Other top personalities in attendance were the Akarigbo of Remo, HRM Oba Babatunde Ajayi.
